California led the nation with 8,136 workers affected across 148 notices , followed by Illinois (1,502 workers) and Massachusetts (1,500 workers) .

Industry Breakdown

The Manufacturing sector dominated layoff filings with 8,510 workers across 96 notices. Meanwhile, Healthcare reported 2,971 workers.

Layoff Type Analysis

Closures accounted for 26% of all affected workers nationally, with the majority of events being layoffs rather than full closures.

Largest Layoffs

The biggest impact was at Steward Health Care System LLC/Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Massachusetts, reporting 753 affected workers. Cepheid followed with 622 workers.
