Filings came from 20 states and territories, with an average of 133 workers per notice.

Top States by Workers Affected

Michigan led the nation with 2,330 workers affected across 9 notices , followed by Texas (2,320 workers) and Ohio (2,242 workers) .

Industry Breakdown

The Manufacturing sector accounted for the largest share of job cuts with 11,171 workers across 64 notices. At the same time, Finance & Insurance reported 2,244 workers.

Layoff Type Analysis

Closures accounted for 37% of all affected workers nationally, with the majority of events being layoffs rather than full closures.

Largest Layoffs

Leading the list was Delphi Steering Systems in Athens, Alabama, reporting 1,020 affected workers. GM ­ Lansing (Delta Twp.) followed with 1,010 workers.

Trend & Outlook

This marks the third consecutive month of rising layoff activity.
