US Layoffs — July 2001
The US labor market showed signs of rising strain as employers submitted 149 WARN Act notices in July 2001, putting at risk an estimated 26,583 workers — up substantially from June and up 176% versus July 2000. Filings came from 12 states and territories, with an average of 178 workers per notice.
